Exclusive Table from Reclaimed Oak and Metal No. 19 is not just a piece of furniture but a piece of history. The oak used for the tabletop dates back to 1715, when the tree began growing in the Białowieża Forest. After two centuries of growth, the oak was felled to make way for revolutionary purposes during Lenin's era, eventually becoming part of a home construction. The outer walls of this home, made from oak planks known as "płazy," formed the base material for the stunning tabletop. These planks, measuring about 40 cm in width and 15 cm in thickness, were naturally curved from a century of drying and settling in the home’s structure. The irregularities in the planks were carefully preserved to maintain the oak's unique character.
The steel base of the table was created from reclaimed metal, sourced from old grain silos, and thoughtfully designed to complement the natural beauty of the oak. The base, with its hand-cut and manually cleaned components, is designed to reflect the same history and resilience as the oak. The steel’s natural patina has been preserved, allowing the age and texture of the metal to remain intact. A crack in the steel, initially a cause for concern, became one of the most beautiful features of the design, adding an unexpected charm to the construction. Upon request, the base can be painted black, offering a more modern look.
This exceptional table is available in three sizes:
- 220 x 100 cm for 8 people
- 260 x 100 cm for 10 people
- 300 x 110 cm for 12 people
Each piece is a unique work of art, carefully crafted with a respect for its history and the materials used. It is a perfect addition to any home or office, bringing together nature, history, and craftsmanship in one striking design.
